Family-owned hotel placed on the Promenade with views across the Bay to the Cumbrian Fells, within walking distance to the Central Shops, the hotel offers evening entertainment most nights. Day 1: We travel Northwest to Morecambe with a stop on route before heading to Holmfirth, Last of the Summer Wine - Sid’s Cafe
Day 2: We venture into the Yorkshire Dales National Park, renowned for the Wensleydale Creamery, for a demonstration on the making of “Wallace’s favourite cheese
This afternoon, we head to Settle, an Ancient Market Town with a granted Charter by Henry III in 1249. Settle is a picturesque and unspoilt place with lots to see & do & the gateway to Upper Ribblesdale. It remains the hub for many of the surrounding villages, with Market Day on Tuesdays.
Day 3: This morning, we head North to Holker Hall & Gardens, owned by Lord and Lady Cavendish, near Grange over Sands. Nestled between the hills of the Lake District and Sea Marshes, Holker Hall is the Epitome of Country House Life before the Great War and stands in 25 acres of award-winning gardens.
With time permitting, this afternoon we’ll head off to Kendal, where you can roam the streets or head indoors to the Westland indoor shopping centre.
Day 4: Today, we take a scenic drive through the forest of Bowland to Clitheroe for the Thursday Market, which has been going since the Norman Conquest in the 12th Century and lies in the Heart of the Ribble Valley.
This afternoon, we head to Skipton, the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales. Skipton is a beautiful market town on the river Aire and the Leeds Liverpool Canal, where we will have a one-hour cruise and, depending on time, some leisure time to wander around the streets.
Day 5: Today you have a day of Leisure, you can stroll along the Promenade or head for the town and explore the streets, shops or local watering holes.
Day 6: After breakfast, we leave Morecambe and the county of Lancashire for our journey back to Norfolk
